STUDENTS WHO WISH TO DO A MASTER´S DEGREE

Master’s Degree courses aim to provide students with an advanced level of training. This may be to introduce them to research activity, or it may be a specialised or multi-disciplinary training with an academic or professional focus.

Students successfully passing the courses will obtain the title of Master.

1) Requisites to enrol for a Master´s degree

1. Qualifications obtained in EHEA countries (other than Spain)

Applicants must have a qualification awarded by a higher education institute in the EHEA that allows the holder to undertake Master’s studies in the awarding country.

2. Qualifications obtained in non-EHEA countries

2.1. With accreditation

Accredited qualifications must permit the holder to undertake Master’s studies in the awarding country.

2.2. Without accreditation

The University of Zaragoza will verify that the qualification accredits the holder with a level of education equivalent to Spanish official university degrees, and that it enables the applicant to undertake postgraduate studies in the awarding country. Acceptance of applications by no means implies the applicant’s qualification has been accredited or recognised for anything other than being able to undertake the Master’s course.

In addition to the general requisites, each Master’s course may have separate requisites.

 

2) Enrolment period

As specified in the course academic calendar. (Normally in June).

 

3) Documents to be submitted with enrolment applications

The following documents must be submitted to the Centre running the course:

  • Form (http://wzar.unizar.es/servicios/maste/impre/admas.pdf )
     
  • Photocopy of National Identity Card or passport
     
  • Original and copy for comparison, or certified copy, of the university qualification (students from other universities only)(*)
  • Original and copy for comparison, or certified copy, of official academic certificate of subjects taken (students from other universities only) (*)
     
  • Curriculum Vitae

Copy of the University of Zaragoza’s authorisation (for applicants with a higher education qualification not approved by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science)

The syllabus and contents of subjects taken (for applicants with a higher education qualification not approved by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science)

Students with a qualification awarded by non-EHEA country must also present, in the month of June, the form authorising them to take subjects with this type of qualification (http://wzar.unizar.es/servicios/maste/impre/impre.html)

When enrolling, documents marked (*) must be approved, at the least, by: the Ministries of Education and of Foreign Affairs of their country of origin, the Spanish Consulate in the same country, and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (diplomatic legalisation). The legalisation details are on the rear of the form.

All documents in languages other than Spanish must be translated to Spanish by a sworn translator.

Documents issued in EU Member States or signatory countries of the Agreement on the European Economic Area do not require legalisation.

 

4) Admission Acceptance

The centres will analyse the applications received in accordance with approved admission criteria for each Master’s degree. Once this process has been completed, the list of students who have been accepted will be published on the centre’s notice board, together with the waiting list, constituting the official notification of acceptance.

The deadline for publishing the admission lists is detailed in the academic calendar.
