Positive Transitions provides One-to-One befriending for young people to support them on the transition from primary to secondary school. Through the befriending relationship the young person and volunteer befriender will touch on the challenges and opportunities encountered when moving to secondary school. The main aim is for the young person and befriender to build a trusting and reliable relationship.You will facilitate weekly one-to-one befriending sessions, with support from your supervisor to provide a structured and stimulating session for individual young people who are finding the transition to secondary school challenging. This work is designed to develop young people’s potential for them to feel more:

This opportunity can also include the opportunity to work with children / young people in group-work settings and our therapeutic art groups.

So, ideal for people who want to develop their skills to work with children and young people using art, group-work and therapeutic support skills.

  • Más información: We work with young people ensuring they make a positive start to high-school. In the last 12-months we have worked with over 100 volunteers/trainees/students/interns enabling us to deliver of projects and them to gain new skills/confidence. Our Re:Connect digital project has 5 weekly drop-ins with this rising to 12 by January 2018 assisting people with basic digital skills
