  • WB Young Professionals Program opens for application on June 14 to July 31- The World Bank Young Professionals Program is a premier global recruitment program and is a unique opportunity for exceptionally talented young professionals (born on October 1, 1986 or after) with a passion for international development to contribute to solving some of the world’s most pressing problems.  We are looking for candidates that have a Master’s Degree plus three years of relevant experience or candidates that are in their last year of a PhD.  The Program is designed for highly qualified and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to the World Bank’s Operations such as:  economics, finance, education, public health, social sciences, engineering, urban planning, and natural resource management.
  • Programa de becarios en la delegación UE. Starting in summer 2018, the Delegation will offer traineeships based on new rules from EEAS Headquarters. We will offer both paid traineeships for students with at least a bachelor’s degree and unpaid compulsory traineeships for academic credit for undergraduate students. Details on the new EEAS requirements are the following:

Based on Decision ADMIN (2017)28 on the Rules related to Traineeships in Delegations of the EU, the Washington Delegation will offer traineeships under four different pillars-

1.  Paid traineeships for young graduates with less than one year of professional experience (each trainee will receive a monthly grant of €1200.00 – the Delegation will have a budget for an estimated 14-15 paid trainees each year);

2.   Unpaid compulsory traineeships for students already residing and studying in the host country;

3.    Traineeships for students of national administration schools of Member States;

4.    Traineeships for trainee civil servants of an administration in a Member State as part of their compulsory professional training.

The first 2 pillars will make up the bulk of our trainees. More information on the specific requirements and eligibility criteria for each category can be read in this graph.

Who can apply?

Nationality

Traineeships in EU Delegations are open to:

•  EU citizens

•  citizens from candidate countries which have already signed an accession treaty (no country at this time)

•   nationals of the host country

Diploma

•  For paid traineeships, applicants must have graduated from a university or equivalent higher-education establishment with at least a Bachelor’s degree

•   For unpaid compulsory traineeships, applicants shall be 3rd, 4th or 5th year students of a University or another higher-education establishment
