Zaragoza is at about 320 km. from Madrid and 290 km. from Barcelona. Its privileged geographical position favour its communication with the rest of Spain and the world and it can be easily reached by public transport.

By air

ZaragozaAirport is located 9 km. from the city. Currently there are regular flights to Frankfurt, Londonand Milan, as well as and domestic flights to Madrid, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Palma de Mallorca.

Connections from the airport to the city are by bus, taxi and rental car.

By train

Zaragoza is one of the main links in the rail network, and this is enhanced by the arrival of the AVE (High Speed Train) and Delicias Station as a passenger transport interchange. The High Speed Train currently runs between Madrid and Zaragoza. The Zaragoza-Barcelona line is operating at high speed in part of the routeonly. Please, check timetables and travel times at:

By bus

Zaragoza is connected to Madrid and Barcelona also by bus. There is one bus almost each hour. The trip takes between 3.5 and 4 hours and costs 10-12 €, either from Madrid (bus station: “Intercambiador Avenida de America”) or from Barcelona (bus station: “Barcelona Nord”). IN BARCELONA

To go from the airport (“Aeropuerto del Prat”) to the train station (“Barcelona Sants”) or to the bus station (“Barcelona Nord”):

• Taxi: it costs 20-25 € and could take around half an hour depending on traffic conditions.
• Train: it costs 2.30 € and there is one each half an hour. The train station is at the third stop called “Sants” (17 minutes) while the bus station is at the fifth stop called “Arc de Triomf” (26 minutes).

IN MADRID

To go from the airport (“Aeropuerto Barajas”) to the train stations (“Madrid Atocha” or “Madrid Chamartin”) or to the bus station (“Intercambiador Avenida America”):

• Taxi: it costs 20-25 €, and could take around half an hour depending on traffic conditions.
• Metro: it costs 1.30 €. Line leaving from the airport is number 8, but you have to change line to arrive to Chamartín train station (stop “Chamartín”), to the bus station (stop “Avda. de America”) or to Atocha train station (stop “Atocha Renfe”). IN ZARAGOZA

• From the airport, the best option is to take a taxi to go to the city center. It costs about 20 €. There is a bus service but with very low frequency.
• From the train station (“Zaragoza Delicias”) you can either take a taxi, with a cost between 6-10€, or use the bus service taking line 51, which can leave you at “Paseo de Pamplona” close to the Paraninfo Building where sessions will be held and also close to the hotels area.
• The bus station where buses from Madrid and Barcelona arrive is located at the corner between “Hernan Cortés” and “Paseo María Agustín” streets, in the middle of the hotels area (see the map).
