Welcome to Carmen's homepage!!

I am associate professor (Profesor Contratado Doctor Interino) at the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Zaragoza.
I combine my teaching duties at the Engineering and Architecture School with my research activity within the Institute of Mathematics and Applications (IUMA) and the research group "Applications of Differential Equations" (DGA reference group "Aplicaciones de Ecuaciones Diferenciales (APEDIF)", ref. E24_17R).

My main research interests include the study of numerical methods for partial differential equations, as well as iterative methods for the solution of the systems of algebraic equations that are obtained after their discretization by finite element, finite difference or finite volume methods. In particular, my research is focused on the design and application of multigrid methods and the analysis of their convergence by local Fourier analysis. Moreover, I am very interested in applications to solid mechanics, and in particular to poroelastic models in different areas of application.
