Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are widely used in many applications, particularly in the biomedical field, which requires careful control of their metallic impurities. Unfortunately, this is not an easy task, as solubilizing this type of material is far from being simple. 

In this work, we have developed a fast and simple approach permitting the direct and simultaneous determination of common impurites (Co, Fe, Ni and Pb) using solid sampling high-resolution continuum source graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (SS HR CS GFAAS).
