MARIE CURIE TRAINING SITE (Contract HPMT-2000-00200)
HOMOGENEOUS CATALYSIS BY ORGANOMETALLIC COMPLEXES
A training activity, sponsored by the European Union Programme
"Improving Human Research Potential and the Socio-Economic Knowledge Base" on
Homogeneous Catalysis by Organometallic Compounds is located at the Faculty
of Science-ICMA, University of Zaragoza-CSIC.
Doctoral research training fellowships to develop various aspects
of Homogeneous Catalysis by Organometallic Compounds are available. Candidates
interested in joining this fellowship should choose between the following alternative
options:
- Integral training in homogeneous catalysis.
Research will be carried out in the context of the current
projects of the host group, and will be focused on covering all aspects of catalyst
development. This will include conception, design, and synthesis of new catalyst
precursors, as well as, reactivity studies, studies under catalytic conditions
and detailed kinetic and mechanistic investigations. Current research projects
span mono-, di-nuclear and early-late catalysts and catalytic processes, such
as functionalisation through C-H activation, hydrogenation, hydrosilylation,
enantioselective Diels-Alder reactions, and polymerisation.
- Detailed studies on the performance and mechanism
of catalytic processes already developed by the fellows at their groups of origin.
Fellows will join a research group conducting studies in Homogeneous
Catalysis and Organometallic Chemistry, which also has strong links with many
other research groups. We offer supervision by our experience scientific staff,
state-of-the art training courses in X-ray diffraction methods, computational
chemistry, and NMR, as well as well-equipped laboratories and direct access
to instruments, specially NMR spectrometers.
Duration of fellowships: Six months to one academic year. For
