Instructions for assessors

             Dear Colleague,

            As you may know, the external assessment, conducted by renowned experts, of original articles sent in to scientific journals is one of the main guarantees of their quality. That is why the editorial board at Historiographies request maximum attention from the journal's assessors when conducting their evaluations. To enhance security, these remain completely anonymous.

 With such premises in mind, assessors should issue their opinion on the text submitted for evaluation by completing the following questionnaire. The questionnaire is purely indicative since assessors may put forward any suggestions or comments beyond the matters dealt with here. Finally, assessors should specify whether or not they consider the text to be publishable, and if so, whether any changes should be made and what these should be. It is requested that such amendments should be appropriately justified. The editorial board at Historiographies would like to express their sincere gratitude for your work and take the opportunity to offer you their best wishes. 

A) Contents of the text: scientific interest of the topic addressed in light of the available literature, use of accurate updated bibliography, relevance of the ideas put forward for scientific renewal, and rigour in the use of concepts and methodology.  

B) Formal aspects of the text: writing (structure of the text and spelling), clarity of exposition, quotations, etc.
