By Ministerial Order of February 24 1975 (BOE of April 14 1975), the university studies of Chemical Sciences given at the former Labor University of Huesca are assigned to the University of Zaragoza, as University School of Technical Industrial Engineer, Industrial Chemistry.
Nevertheless, the origins of the School can be traced back to the academic year 1967-68, year in which those teachings start, with free character and dependent on the University School of Zaragoza. From the year 1968-69 these studies are under the direction, control and coordination of the University School of Villanueva y Geltrú until the year 1974-75, when these studies are assigned to the University of Zaragoza, as it has been already indicated after effecting the corresponding transfers of student's records. From that moment they will belong to the University of Zaragoza.
The Social Council of the University of Zaragoza, in extraordinary session of November 2 1988 agreed to request the creation of a Technical University School in Huesca (from then Escuela Universitaria Politécnica de Huesca) which includes the Technical Degrees in Industrial Engineer and Agricultural Technical Scientist.
On the other hand, the Governing Body of the University of Zaragoza, in session of February 3 1980, according to the Technical Memory prepared by the Joint Commission for the integration of the University School of Technical Industrial Engineer of the Centro de Enseñanzas Integradas former Labour University, given a favourable report to the incorporation of this School as Centre of the University of Zaragoza and supported the transformation request of the Centre incorporating at the same time the Agricultural Technical Scientist teachings. This transformation already counted on the favourable report of the Council of Universities, in session of March 18 1988.
In this way, and through the Royal Decree 1025/1989, of July 28 1989, by which Centres and teachings in several Universities are authorized (BOE núm. 190 of August 10 1989), " it is integrated in the University of Zaragoza the University School of Technical Industrial Engineer of the Integrated Teachings Centre of Huesca, becoming Escuela Universitaria Politécnica de Huesca, and it is authorized to organize the teachings for obtaining the Technical degrees in Industrial Engineer and Agricultural Technical Scientist, in the speciality properly authorized ".
On December 14 1998, the plenary session of the Social Council approved to propose to the Government of Aragon the establishment of new degrees, among them Agricultural Engineer (advanced studies) to be given at the Campus of Huesca, and in session of April 9 2001 the Counsil of Government of the University of Zaragoza approves to request from the Government of Aragon the authorization to give the studies conducive to the Agricultural Engineer Degree in the Campus of Huesca (Technical University School)
On the other hand, the Council of Universities conditions the approval of this advanced degree to the fact that it must be given at a higher school, and consequently the University of Zaragoza initiates the procedures for the transformation of the Technical University School of Huesca in a higher school, in such a way that, in session of April 9 2001, the Meeting of Government of the University of Zaragoza proposes to the Social Counsil the transformation of the Technical University School in higher school, with the name of Escuela Politécnica Superior de Huesca (Agricultural and Chemical Engineering School)
The Social Council of the University of Zaragoza, in session of April 10 2001, agreed to propose to the Government of Aragón, heard the Council of Government of the U.Z., the transformation of the Technical University School of Huesca in the Agricultural and Chemical Engineering, higher school that would take the teachings that are given in the present Technical University School, as well as the degree in Agricultural Engineer.
By Decree 177/2001, of September 4, of the Government of Aragon (BOA of September 14) the Technical University School of Huesca is transformed in THE AGRICULTURAL AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING SCHOOL, authorizing the establishment in the mentioned School of the teachings to obtain the Agricultural Engineer Degree (second stage), and finally by Resolution of September 26 2001, the Rector's Office of the University of Zaragoza, instructions are stablished to start the activities of the new higher school.

In the year 2001 the Second Stage of the qualification in Agricultural Engineer is started and the new study plan for Technical Industrial Engineer, Industrial Chemistry in the year 2002.
