UVEG is expert in molecular magnetism design and preparation of mono- and polynuclear metal complexes (using a complex-as-ligand building block approach), processing of magnetic molecules as thin films and other nanostructures and modeling.

Facilities:
Magnetic techniques (Quantum Design SQUID magnetometer 1,8-300K and X- and Q-band EPR).

Prof. Coronado (250 publications) discovered in 2000 the first molecular material with coexistence of ferromagnetism and metallic conductivity.

Specific awards:
Prize in Chemistry of the World Academy of Science and Technology 2002, Prize of research in Novel Technologies Rey Jaime I in 2003.

ca. 80 papers/year in international journals, 5 patents over the last 5 years.
