Large Scale Facilities (LSF)

Objectives:

  • Provide support in the preparation of applications for beam time at neutrons, muons, and synchrotron radiation sources. Provide support in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Co-ordinate research activities on molecular nanomagnets involving the use of LSF instrumentation.
  • Provide support in the development of LSF facilities (specific beamlines, specific laboratory equipments and expertise related to molecular magnetic materials)
  • Develop deuteration and single crystal growth techniques for the preparation of samples to be used at LSF.

  • Growth of molecular nano-magnets single-crystals, synthesis of new molecular magnetic materials, synthesis of photoswitchable Magnetic materials, nanostructuring and nanoassembling of nano-magnets suitable for LSF investigations

  • Determination of magnetic anisotropy and exchange interactions in molecular nanomagnets and single molecule magnets
  • Studies of spin dynamics and magnetic relaxation
  • Determination of magnetization density distributions
  • Studies of electron energy spectra
  • Characterization of nanostructured and nano-assembled molecular magnetic materials
