Magnetic, magneto-transport & thermal measurements (MG) ILMG offers standard high class and world class magnetometers (5mK to 1000 K and fields up to 7 Tesla) and calorimetric instruments adapted to temperatures from 0.025 to 1000K and external conditions of field (9 T) coupling to other parameters like in optically excited systems

EIMM Members Involved: INSTM (Italy), Satellite CNRS Est, CNRS IDF (France), RO-node (Romania), Za (Spain), UNIKARL (Germany)

 

  • Provide easy access to magnetic, electric transport and thermal measurements in routine, special, and world-class equipment.
  • Develop equipment adapted to the specific needs, specially miniaturization, high, low and very low temperature set-ups.
  • Develop sensitive sample handling techniques for these techniques. 

Knowledge & Expertise

  • Expertise in low and very low temperature properties of condensed matter is provided by members of the nodes cited above
  • The complete characterization of samples from small volume single crystals, thin films and bulk samples is possible within the Integrated Lab. Equipments
  • The planning of the experiment and data analysis is assisted by the equipment local contacts
  • Expertise in special problems, like Single Molecule Magnetism, Thermo-magnetic switching, magnetocaloric effect, exists within these nodes
