Research Lines | Holography

Holograms "keep" a light wave so we can use that wave in any application. This phenomenon has a lot of applications: displays, security elements, optical systems, non-destructive testing. Our group owns a full holography laboratory where it is possible to make and characterise holograms and holographic optical elements. We also apply holographic interferometry for internal-defect detection, deformation analysis and refraction-index changes due to density or temperature variations.

Set-up for holographic optical elements multiplexing

Into the holography field, we carry out various research lines:

    • Holographic optical elements

    Experimental study of conditions to make holographic optical elements with high efficiency and low aberrations, specially for holographic lenses. Holographic elements multiplexing.

  • Optical processing

Desing and construction of optical information-processing systems by using holographic optical elements.

  • Materials for holography.

Study of materials for holographic recording (silver halide, dichromated gelatine, photoresist, photopolymer…) Process optimization and related physical phenomena.
