The research group for Computed Tomography offers a job position for an Experienced Researcher in the field of integrated quality control of composite parts.

We offer an exciting, innovative and flexible work environment within a dynamic team in the city of Wels, Austria. Minimum gross wage per month € 2.566,73 + mobility allowance according to your qualification and family situation.

The open position is related to the INTERAQCT research project (www.interaqct.eu) funded under the Marie Curie Programme in FP7 of the European Commission. INTERAQCT has been conceived as a pan-European industrial-academic initiative that will provide the unique and encompassing training environment required, by bringing together expertise from industry and academia in each of these domains: CT-equipment, CT-software, NDT, dimensional metrology, additive manufacturing, micro-manufacturing, composite manufacturing.

Job description: You will be hired in the second half of the project, and will be involved in the training activities. You will develop a method enabling to classify defects as critical and non-critical defects. In addition, you will determine geometry, orientation and shape of inner structures in these inherently multi-material objects, which can be compared to the manufacturing specifications, hence achieving integrated quality control. In addition to the trainings you will have a secondment to Borealis in Austria, which is located near Wels.

Eligibility and mobility criteria: At the time of recruitment you are in possession of a doctoral /PhD degree OR you have at least 4 years of research experience and you are still within the first 5 years (full-time equivalent) of your career in research; AND you have not resided, worked or studied in Austria for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the time of recruitment.

Duration: 16 months
